Summer is definitely here: the sun is shining, the heat is rising, the birds are singing, and the clothes are off. But what about feet? I’ve heard some people say that you are truly nude or a nudist unless you are barefoot.
This has been an interesting thought for me for years. Like many, I love being barefoot when running across a grassy field… as long as that grassy field has no rocks, stones, snakes, etc. in it, which is always hard to guarantee. Grass just feels luxurious on my feet but, for some reason, the fear of the pain associated with stepping on something that’ll hurt my tender puddies typically causes me to wear shoes. Not always, but usually. I guess I’m tender-footed?
My own little barefoot issues seem to be quite the opposite of many. I recently read about a person who is going to run a really long distance (across a state) barefoot to raise money. While I applaud their effort and charitable heart, my feet think this is a bad idea- there are stones out there, you know!
What are your thoughts about bare feet? Good idea or painful thought? Can you be a nudist if your feet aren’t nekkid???

I like to be barefoot as often as possible, but it isn’t required to be a naturist. As the saying goes, “nude when possible, clothed when practical”. In winter, we dress, yet we are still naturists. If hot pavement or sharp rocks are underfoot, then shoes are practical. But, going barefoot as much as possible will also help toughen up the feet which will broaden the types of terrain one can handle without shoes.
I love being barefoot prefer that to wearing shoes of any kind. For me nothing beats to contact between my feet and the ground. It can also be very healthy for your feet
Barefoot is great when the grass is green and soft, but in the heat of summer it can dry out and turn brown and make it uncomfortable. One also needs to beware of wasps that make their nest in the ground—I found out the hard way in my yard a month or so ago.
To me Mel its like this you can be a nudist with or without shoes on your feet but to me sometimes you just dont look right unless your hiking etc where having shoes on is just smart if you asked my mother in law what a nudist is she would say anyone I see where I can see their junk freely hanging out! lol
I enjoy being barefoot and would rather be but sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to be. Besides … my wife and I still play footsie and if she takes the time to ensure her feet are nice, soft, free of rough, dead skin … shouldn’t I? I’ve seen guys feet and some of them are gross! Having nasty feet is not manly! LOL
So … I go with my wife and get pedicures every so often to ensure my nails are cut correctly and I enjoy the leg and foot massages! LOL But … if I’m going to go through all that trouble of keeping my feet nice, why would I go barefoot ALL the time and either throw money away or ruin what I just paid for?
I’m barefoot inside … ALWAYS, out back as long as I’m not going to be working or doing lots of things on the concrete. Anywhere I can be barefoot and not get hurt and not destroy my feet … I’ll be barefoot.
